THE BRAEFCASE

Thirty-year-old Iryna is a stewardess on intercity bus trips and a single parent of a four-year-old boy Hrysha. Iryna’s ex-husband, a charming rogue, left her almost immediately after the birth of her son, finding a more profitable option in the person of a naive and romantic Alina. All these years Alina has kept Anton, taking money from her mother Lisa to do this. One day, Lisa disobeyed her father, furniture magnate Viktor Romanenko and married against his will, for which she was permanently expelled from the family, deprived of communication with them, and has been receiving a monthly allowance from her father for many years. Lisa considers these payments too little and desperately envies her brother Mykola, to whom Romanenko is going to transfer his business empire…
Everything changes after Mykola and his son Maxim die in a plane crash. Viktor Romanenko arrives for a funeral from a foreign clinic, where he is being treated for inoperable cancer. He is horrified that now he has no heir of his empire as Mykola’s daughter Kristina has no children, and Romanenko intends to transfer the empire to a male heir only…
Romanenko very sick and weak. From the foreign clinic, he contacts Lisa, remembering that he last talked to his daughter four years ago, when Lisa’s daughter Alina was pregnant with ha boy. However, Romanenko doesn’t know that then, shortly after his conversation with Lisa, Alina had a miscarriage, and she has no children. Upon learning that the father is looking for an heir, Lisa understands she has a chance to correct everything! She lies to her father that Alina’s son is alive and he’s four now… Romanenko is delighted, he promises to arrive and discuss everything in a couple moth, when his treatment is over…
Meanwhile, Iryna finds a briefcase full of gold coins for which there is a real hunt. Having miraculously escaped from a thug hunting for the briefcase, Iryna gives it to its late owner’s son, Mykhailo, a widower IT specialist raising a six-year-old daughter Vika and depressed after the death of his wife. Unable to work as a programmer anymore, Mykhailo’s working as a taxi driver, though without much success – the bank is about to take away his flat for debts… Iryna still doesn’t realize that Lisa has already entered into a conspiracy with her ex-husband Anton, and now they’re going to deprive Iryna of her parental rights at any cost and take her son away from her in order to trick Grisha into the successor of Romanenko’s business empire…
