“Media Group Ukraine’s” distribution team concluded several agreements with the Lithuanian broadcaster “Lietuvos ryto TV” on sales of its content.
The first season of the documentary reality show “A Story of One Crime” has been already run on “Lietuvos ryto TV”. The first season of the series “Unexpected Justice” starts soon.
“There has been a significant rise in the interest towards Ukrainian content in the Baltic countries, Lithuania in particular. We are glad that our films and series are in demand among local viewers. We are happy to cooperate with “Lietuvos ryto TV” and hope the channel’s viewers will love our projects since “Media Group Ukraine” has various products for all kinds of audiences,” says Iryna Chernyak, Director of Television Content Sales Department of “Media Group Ukraine” and Head of Programming Product Acquisition of TV Channel “Ukraine”.
“We purchased packages of different types of TV series – an action/detective “Unexpected Justice” as well as restorative criminal documentary “A Story of One Crime”. Both TV series are becoming more and more popular among our viewers. We are happy about the opportunity to collaborate with Ukraine media group not only because of high quality production that is valued by “Lietuvos Ryto” TV viewers, but also due to connected Lithuanian and Ukrainian history. I think that is one of the reasons why “A Story of One Crime” draws a lot of viewers’ attention. After all, both countries know well enough what the 90’s mean and what was going on in our countries during the years if independence restoration,” said Audrius Siaurusevičius, Head of “Lietuvos Ryto” TV.
“The Story of One Crime” – anyone may be a criminal. All actions have their causes and effects, and to catch a criminal you have to think like the criminal, be level with them, live their life and understand their motives.
The project is a reconstruction of actual crimes. The focus is on materials of tangled resonance cases that have taken place in Ukraine from 1991 and up to nowadays. The viewers will see unique exclusive police footages, interviews with the participants of those events – both criminals and their victims who have been silent until now – and find out details of investigations. Together with the hostess Oleksandra Sokolovska, Oleksandr Kur, Volodymyr Polischuk and Ruslan Sushko, recognized experts and professional detectives that participated in the most resonance investigations, will search for clues in complicated cases.

“Need a cab?” – The protagonist of the series, a racing driver Bohdan, loses his wife in a car crash. The grieved man decides to restore justice himself and beats the confession out of the perpetrator, whose rich parents bribed the police to close down the investigation. This changes Bohdan’s life drastically: his wife’s killer is eventually imprisoned, but, for the physical abuse, Bohdan receives a suspended sentence and spends almost a year in a detention facility. Bohdan is disappointed in the system and has no more trust in the police. Hence, when his friend is in trouble, he starts investigating the case all by himself, trying to protect those who need help, protection and justice here and now. His advantage is speed, thanks to which he quickly learns information that cops are unable to collect.
